Pivot Preps Integrated "360 Workspace" Pivot Solutions, developer of the IMTrader FIX-enabled trader messaging system, will unveil a new strategy to reposition itself as an "institutional-strength collaboration vehicle" at the upcoming SIFMA Technology Management conference, according to chief executive Lou Eccleston. The new strategy, dubbed Pivot 360, will see IMTrader form part of a workspace dashboard that will link conversations within the messaging program to third-party and proprietary research and analysis, and allow users to aggregate and filter communications by socalled "pivot points" or individuals, and to add new feeds on the fly as required. Ed Daciuk, vice president of products at Pivot, says that the vendor can apply tags to IM conversations structured according to its recommendations in real time, and automatically display other related information relevant to a trader's IM conversation. "If we can tag information, we can pull it together and make it relevant…. Portfolio managers can look at research or internal content or news alerts alongside their IM," Daciuk says. "We're talking about preintegrating with as many [data sources and analytical applications] as we possibly can… so that traders don't have to leave a conversation to look at other things, but can look at them alongside their IM… and convert that to a trade ticket and initiate a trade order," he says. Though the new offering is "90 percent there," the vendor has yet to finish rounding out the required integration with content partners, Daciuk says. |
